Country Gardens Assisted Living Earns A 2020 AHCA/NCAL Silver Quality Award
Silver Quality Award Demonstrates Country Gardens’ Dedication to Highest Quality of Care
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 15, 2020) —Country Gardens Assisted Living Community (Muskogee, Oklahoma) is proud to accept the prestigious Silver Quality Award from the American Health Care Association (AHCA)/National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL), the leading association for long term and post-acute care providers.
Country Gardens was the sole 2020 Silver Quality Award winner based in the state of Oklahoma. The annual award honors association members across the nation that have demonstrated their continuing ability to improve quality of care for seniors and persons with disabilities.
Country Gardens’ parent company, Tutera Senior Living & Health Care, is one of the nation’s premier providers of post-acute health care services. With 70 facilities, communities and agencies in nine states throughout the United States, Tutera is proud to provide a higher caliber of senior health services. This award won by Country Gardens shows the company’s commitment to constantly improving care and outcomes.
“We are proud to see these communities recognized for their unwavering commitment to residents,” said Joe Tutera, chief executive officer of Tutera Senior Living & Health Care. “I commend the staff at Country Gardens on their hard work and dedication to our valued residents.”
The Bronze Commitment to Quality Award and the Silver Achievement in Quality Award are two of three progressive award levels through the National Quality Award Program, which AHCA/NCAL established in 1996. It is based on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, which is also the foundation of the metric-based AHCA/NCAL Quality Initiative. The Baldrige program helps organizations in different business sectors improve and achieve performance excellence.
“It’s rewarding to be recognized with a prestigious quality award that underscores the standards that guide what we do every day,” said Randy Bloom, Ph.D., chief operating officer of Tutera Senior Living & Health Care. “Our ongoing YOUNITE initiative is designed to ensure we are continuously asking, listening and responding in ways that are personally meaningful to residents, family members and staff in all our communities across the nation.”
Bronze applicants must demonstrate their ability to implement a performance improvement system. Silver applicants must have previously received the Bronze Commitment to Quality Award. Silver award winners demonstrate effective approaches that help improve performance and health care outcomes. Trained examiners thoroughly review each application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria.
The 2020 awards will be presented during AHCA/NCAL’s virtual 71st National Quality Award Celebration Watch Party on October 22, 2020.
